Types Of Resume Build

The professional world is the most competitive place a person can ever witness in their lifetime. People work throughout their whole academic and professional life, achieving the best degrees and skills to make them highly competitive among all the candidates. Every company only aims to hire the best professionals to work for its firm. To be selected as the best candidate, you can speak for yourself only to an extent. Your CV or resume does most of the talking about your achievements and skills.

A resume contains all the formal accomplishments, experience, and skills obtained by a person throughout their career. It gives the employer a clear picture of a candidate’s potential and how they can contribute to the company. Moreover, it gives the employer an idea about how to fit a person for a particular job. If the employer is impressed by the candidate’s resume, they may call the individual for a series of interviews as well to get a clearer idea about the employee

Types of resume build

Before you start building the perfect resume, you must understand the different types of resumes and choose the best favorable resume.

  • Chronological type resume: This is one of the most used types of resume candidates use. In this type, the candidate enlists their degrees, job experiences, and certificates chronologically. It starts with mentioning the most recent job experiences first and then followed by the older ones. People use this type as it is easy to write and clearer in approach. The employer can easily spot a person’s accomplishments along with the work history in an organized manner. However, one con of this type is that the employer may be unable to look out for the skills until they are mentioned along with the job. It is a great type of resume if you’re trying to highlight your career growth and expectations from your future job.
  • Functional type resume: Functional resume highlights the strengths and skills of a candidate. It does not mention specific dates, places, or names.  However, like the above-mentioned chronological resume, the accomplishments may not be mentioned in a year by year manner in functional type. This may also be a drawback of the resume type.  It may also be a reason why some employees do not prefer this type. It is the best type of resume if you’re aiming to highlight all the skills you might have learned during their job or volunteering task.
  • Combination resume: As suggested by the name, a combination resume combines the good points of both the resume mentioned above types. It is a good option to highlight all the skills and accomplishments and in a chronological offer. A combination resume helps the employer decide how well an employee can potentially do as a part of the company.

These were the major three types of resume build that an individual can use to highlight their career objectives and credentials.
