If you are using a VPN, it is not recommended that your internet connection be much slower through a VPN. To test our speed, we tested Nord VPN for a long time on a variety of devices. Use speedtest.net to assess the potential loss of internet speed. Here are our conclusions:
- Nord VPN is fast
- The speed test showed a slight decrease in speed, but the speed is still good.
- In daily use, there is no noticeable difference in speed even if you are playing games.
- Nord VPN automatically connects to the fastest server available
- With Nord VPN, P2P downloads are very easy.
Nord VPN speed test results
When I tried to check the performance of the Nord VPN, I really got surprised by watching the results. In previous reviews, Nord VPN’s speeds cannot compete with other premium VPN providers. This has changed. I have tested Nord VPN servers in my country and the United States. Keep in mind that individual speed results with Nord VPN may vary depending on your internet speed and location.
We use these numbers as the primary metric to compare all other results.
The results are close to what the network gets when it connects to the fastest servers in the United States. In particular, the download speed has significantly decreased. However, the download speed is the most important factor for most VPN users. Nord VPN is performing well and we believe the latter is less affected. But keep in mind that if you are in the USA, you will get better results if you connect to a server in the USA as I tested in the Netherlands.
